What might the disciples have been thinking as the storms arose?
How would you picture their faces during the storms?
When seeing Jesus asleep?
What worries or concerns might they have had?
- This must have not been an ordinary storm. These were fisherman, used to spending their lives on the sea and used to storms. For them to be afraid indicates it was quite a storm.
1. Fear Keeps us From Seeing Things Clearly.
- We lose sight of the Fact that God is in Charge even if he seems at rest.
2. It is Often through the Storms of Life that God Teaches us Some of the Most Important Lessons in Life.
- Jesus was well practiced at resting in his Fathers care and could rest despite lifes storms whether weather related or storms of emotion. Scripture provides us with comfort and the promise of strength in time of need. We are assured he will not abandon us to the storms of life.
